Founding Early Childhood Art Teacher
The Art Teacher at the early childhood level is responsible for planning and implementing creative arts activities, guiding students through the artistic process, and evaluating student progress. The visual arts program at the elementary school emphasizes creativity, self-expression, artistic techniques, and exploration of various media.

- Contribute to the development of a dynamic, well-rounded art curriculum that fosters creativity, artistic skill development, and critical thinking.
- Provide opportunities for students to explore various artistic techniques and media, including drawing, painting, sculpture, and digital art, while building fine motor skills and encouraging creative expression.
- Work alongside teachers from other subjects to integrate art into the broader curriculum and reinforce academic learning through hands-on art experiences.
- Create a classroom that nurtures students' artistic abilities, self-expression, and emotional development. Ensure students feel confident in experimenting and making mistakes as part of the learning process.
- Ensure the appropriate use and organization of art supplies, tools, and equipment.
- Participate in required in-service training and professional learning opportunities to stay up-to-date on best practices in art education and teaching strategies.
- Provide extra support for students needing assistance in art or other academic areas as necessary.
- Support the school community by participating in activities like arrival, dismissal, lunch, and recess supervision.
- Be present and punctual for all work responsibilities, ensuring continuity in instruction.
- Build positive relationships with students, parents, staff, and the community. Maintain clear communication regarding student progress and any concerns.
- Participate in school committees and take on committee member responsibilities.
- Coordinate art shows and exhibitions to showcase students' work.
- Be flexible and ready to support the broader needs of the school.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required
- OK State Teaching Certification highly preferred
- Experience in elementary art education is a plus, but not required
