Founding Early Childhood Physical Education Teacher (P.E.)
The Physical Education Teacher at the early childhood elementary level is responsible for planning and implementing physical education activities, monitoring students, and evaluating student outcomes. Physical Education in the elementary school emphasizes sports-related skills, movement patterns, games, and fitness activities.
P.E. Teacher Expectations at Santa Fe South

- Participate in curriculum review and design.
- Plan and implement dynamic physical education activities that focus on building sports-related skills, enhancing movement patterns, and encouraging healthy fitness habits.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to reinforce academic skills through physical activities.
- Provide an atmosphere and environment conducive to the intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development of students.
- Work closely with teachers, parents, and other school staff to support the overall development of each student. Maintain clear communication regarding student progress and any concerns.
- Monitor use and care of equipment, materials, and facilities.
- Attend required in-service training programs and actively engage in professional learning opportunities to stay updated on best practices in physical education.
- Lead and support small group intervention for reading and math.
- Fulfil school related duties such as arrival, dismissal, lunch and/or recess.
- Maintain regular, on-time, attendance
- Communicate and interact with students, parents, staff, and the community.
- Serve on special committees, and fulfill responsibilities of a committee member.
- Plan and supervise field trips following established procedures.
- Plan, organize, and coordinate field day; develop activities; set up for activities.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required
- OK State Teaching Certification Highly preferred
- CPR certification Highly preferred
