Middle School Physical Education Teacher (P.E.)
The Middle School Physical Education Teacher is responsible for designing and implementing a comprehensive physical education program that promotes physical fitness, healthy lifestyles, and sportsmanship among middle school students. The program emphasizes team sports, fitness routines, personal wellness, and cooperative games that align with adolescent developmental needs.

Develop and deliver dynamic, age-appropriate physical education lessons that promote lifelong health and fitness habits.

Focus instruction on skill development, teamwork, sportsmanship, and personal goal setting.

Monitor and support students’ physical, emotional, and social development.

Integrate academic content (such as health, math, or science) into physical activities when appropriate.

Maintain a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment that encourages all students to participate and grow.

Collaborate with other middle school educators and staff to support the overall well-being of each student.

Regularly assess student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.

Monitor and maintain PE equipment, gym space, and outdoor facilities.

Participate in professional development and actively seek growth in physical education best practices.

Support small group interventions during assigned times, particularly in reading or math.

Assist with school-wide duties such as arrival, dismissal, lunch, and hallway transitions.

Communicate clearly and consistently with students, families, and colleagues.

Plan and oversee special events such as field day, intramural activities, or wellness initiatives.

Serve on school committees and support extracurricular programs when possible.

Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required

Oklahoma State Teaching Certification in Physical Education preferred

CPR certification preferred
