ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Produce Stainless Steel Spools, OEM Water Treatment Equipment, and Assemblies efficiently maximizing profits while maintaining the highest quality and never compromising safety.
- Adept at Full Penetration Root Passes free of defects suitable to pass all NDE including the following : RT (X-Ray), UT (Ultrasonic), PT (Penetrant), and VT (Visual) per applicable code.
- Read, interpret, and Strategize on the most efficient Pipe Spools fabrication method and over-all construction adhering to schematics or blueprints to lay out and finish weld quality spools and weldments.
- Employ various techniques (MIG / FCAW / TIG) to permanently join Stainless Steel pipes together.
- Ensure pipe welding equipment is in good working order and serviced regularly.
- Monitor semi-automatic machines or robotic systems to adjust controls as necessary.
- Prepare for a welding operation by cutting and shaping pipes using power saws, grinders and other tools.
- Clamp, heat-bend or grind pipe components to obtain suitable welding position.
- Determine the materials and position most suitable for a welding operation.
- Select and install filler rods, torches, and torch tips according to welding chart specifications and product type.
- Conduct assessments to verify workpieces are free of defect and conform to set specifications.
- Mark and Tag workpieces with numbers, letters or other symbols for easy identification.
- They adhere to safety requirements by wearing appropriate protective gear during welding operations. QUALIFICATIONS and PREFERRED SKILLS :
- 5 Years experience fabricating (fit / weld) Stainless Steel Spools to ASME B31.3 specifications.
- 5-8 Years experience fabricating (fit / weld) Carbon Steel Skids and Supports to AWS D1.1
- Proficient at using Shop machinery including but not limited to Iron Workers, Plasma Cutter, Grinders, Sanders, Cold Saws, MIG / FCAW Welding Machines, and TIG Welding Machines.
- Experience in Quality Control including NDE – Dye Penetrant and Hydro Testing.
- Adherence to all Shop Safety Codes and Rules.
- Blueprint Reading, Detailing, and able to generate Cut Lists and Buy Lists.
- High school diploma or some training as a pipe welding apprentice or vocational institution.
- Problem-solving, technical, and communication skills. Hourly Range $20-$25 DOE Benefits :
