As a Restaurant Manager, your primary focus will be on facilitating, coordinating, and enhancing the functions of the Hacienda restaurant through effective communication, leadership, and collaboration.


Duties include:


Strategic Leadership:

  • Establishing a vision, making decisions in line with the organization's objectives, and ensuring flexibility in a constantly changing environment.
  • Oversee daily restaurant operations, ensuring top-tier service and guest satisfaction.
  • Innovative and able to turn an obstacle into an advantage.

Wine Management & Development:

  • Build relationships with wine distributors, negotiate pricing, and manage wine inventory.
  • Conduct wine tastings and educational sessions for staff and guests.
  • Train and mentor staff on wine pairings, tasting notes, and proper wine service techniques.
  • Curate and manage the wine list, selecting wines that complement the menu and cater to guest preferences
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef to create seasonal wine pairings and promotions.

Team Management:

  • Empowering staff to make and own decisions, manage customer interactions, and take ownership of their roles.
  • Staffing appropriately based on guest demand and communicating staffing needs with the Director of Food & Beverage.
  • Direct pre-shift meetings with dining room and beverage personnel. Relays information and policy changes and briefs personnel.
  • Schedule trainings on all aspects of dining, including fine dining table service and wine sales

Guest Experience:

  • Handle guest inquiries related to wine and dining experiences, providing expert recommendations
  • Executing the highest level of service and quality for our members and their guests.
  • Assists in service as needed: serves as bartender, server, etc. Take reservations and checks table reservation schedules. Greets and seats members and guests.

Administrative:

  • Process and receive orders for the various operations
  • Maintain and regularly update liquor inventory and pricing
  • Identifying and conveying the maintenance needs within your areas of responsibility and ensuring things are repaired, maintained and in proper working order.
  • Payroll administration
  • Staff scheduling
  • Maintains a restaurant and bar product and supplies inventory system. Maintains an adequate supply of quality liquors, wines, beer and other beverages with effective inventory management.
  • Maintain compliance with health, safety and licensing regulations


Experience:

  • 2 years experience as a Restaurant Manager or Sommelier in a high-end dining environment
  • Extensive knowledge of wine regions, varietals, and food pairings
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to use a variety of computer applications
  • Excellent organization, administrative, and prioritizing skills
  • Detail-oriented
  • Professional attitude
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Ability to do thorough research
  • Effective conflict management and decision-making skills
  • Strong knowledge of local community, area, and region
  • Time management skills
  • Certified Sommelier or WSET (Wine & Spirit Education Trust) certification preferred
  • CA Food Handlers Card Required
  • RBS Training Required
