What are the responsibilities and job description for the Behavior Therapist position at Santa Maria El Mirador?
The Behavior Therapist (BT) develops and implements behavior management plans for agency participants with intellectual disabilities. The BT participates as a multidisciplinary team member in developing each participant's Individual Program Plan and implements therapy plans; documents initial and on-going assessments on participants requiring behavior therapy services; provides active crisis intervention as needed; coordinates with other service providers as necessary; assists in training of direct care staff in proper implementation of behavior plans.LISW (Licensed Independent Social Worker) preferred .Masters degree in behavior analysis and therapy, social work, guidance and counseling, or special education required .Must maintain current or provisional New Mexico licensure with the professional field licensing body.Minimum 1 year experience required developing behavior management programs, training staff in implementation of such programs.Knowledge of technical and professional principles and skills of behavior management.Two (2) years of supervisory experience preferred .
