What are the responsibilities and job description for the After School Enrichment Counselor / Driver position at Santa Monica Family YMCA?
After-school Enrichment Counselors & Drivers supervise and ensure the safety of youth enrolled in the After-School Program. They provide a safe, fun, inviting environment and safe transportation from elementary and middle schools to the YMCA. Drivers and counselors also assist with homework and implement and deliver daily activities. They are expected to participate in, organize, and engage the children in daily enrichment activities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Supervises a group of children.
- Safely transports youth and co-workers for after-school pick-ups.
- Delivers program activities that are culturally relevant, developmentally appropriate, and consistent with YMCA core values.
- Adheres to program standards, including safety and cleanliness standards.
- Attend staff meetings and trainings.
- Follows YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention, and emergencies.
- Maintain positive relations with participants, parents, and other staff.
Schedule: Monday-Friday 12:30-6:00pm
After School Program Driver/Counselor is a seasonal position from August 22, 2024 through June 12, 2025.
Employee may also be eligible for hire during Summer Camp season (June – August). Schedule may change due to school holidays and increase or decrease in enrollment.
Salary : $18
