Job Summary
The Member Experience Associate plays a vital role in enhancing the overall experience of our members. This position involves engaging with members, providing support, and ensuring that all interactions are positive and impactful. The ideal candidate will be passionate about community engagement and have a strong background in volunteer management, program development, and administrative tasks.
Duties
- Responsible for daily services to all members, prospective members, and program participants. This includes greeting members by name, welcoming guests, registering for programs and membership, and giving tours.
- Interview and tour prospective members, sell memberships, schedule tours, and enroll a new member using standard procedures. Be knowledgeable about and provide accurate information on facility services and programs,
- Answer questions and address issues in a positive, caring manner.
- The supervisor will determine various clerical tasks such as copying, phone calls, mailings, etc.
- Report to work on time with a positive, friendly attitude, wearing professional attire/uniform and name badge. Adhere to time off and office policies.
- Respond to safety and emergencies.
- Organize and manage Lost and Found.
- Other Member Service duties, as assigned.
- Collect and process payments for membership dues, resale items, program fees, etc. Conduct end-of-shift count-out. Inform the supervisor immediately of any discrepancies found.
Requirements
- Demonstrate strong customer service and professional conduct, and work harmoniously with others.
- Possess excellent computer skills to work with a membership management program, point of sale, and basic data entry purposes.
- Good verbal and listening communication skills, with the ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all community social and economic segments.
- Possess a genuine interest in people and the ability to establish and maintain harmonious relationships with staff, volunteers, members, and the general public.
- Demonstrate a friendly, courteous, and professional manner when dealing with members and understanding, articulating, and positively enforcing YMCA policies and procedures.
- Be a strong self-starter and initiator passionate about service and relationship building.
- Have previous customer service, sales, or related experience.
- Possess current CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications.
