Position Summary:
The LADC/PLADC is responsible for but not limited to; documentation, treatment planning, reporting and recordkeeping to ensure the compliance of licensure standards. The LADC/PLADC will provide residential substance abuse counseling services to the women of Santa Monica. In addition, the LADC/LMHP will provide support in planning and facilitating group counseling sessions. This position will serve as a modem to maintaining the agencies ethical and professional standards. The LADC/PLADCP will be expected to have competency in recognizing and or treating co-occurring conditions within their scope of practice and appropriate licensure. The LADC/PLADC will also participate in required supervision per licensure standards. LADC/PLADC will assure hours in all 12 core functions by performing job duties relating to the 12 core functions as required by licensure.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with Director to assess referrals by reviewing Chemical Dependency Evaluations.
- Coordinating with Director to screen, accept or deny admission to prospective residents, as well as assist in managing the waitlist.
- Assess and coordinates the intake process of potential clients with referral sources.
- Prepare resident file for admissions to house.
- Assist residents in obtaining documentation needed for programming. Support and guide residents to programming guidelines on a daily basis. Perform necessary search of resident property within Santa Monica in order to properly orient residents to the program.
- Conduct substance abuse evaluations and/or updated assessments as needed for providing client services or referrals.
- Establishes a comprehensive treatment plan, with client participation, that outlines the client goals, objectives, outcomes and structure of their treatment.
- Completes necessary documentation, per licensure standards, in a timely and accurate manner. Organize, file and maintain resident charts as identified by federal law and agency procedure.
- Provides individual, family and group counseling as needed per program model. Monitor progress.
- Refer, treat or recommend services as necessary to be sensitive to the individualized needs of the client and remain within the licensure and scope of practice.
- Relating with in-house staff or outside professionals to assure comprehensive, quality care for the client. Attend weekly staffing, trainings and supervision.
- Facilitate activities which bring services, agencies, resources, or people together within a planned framework of action toward the achievement of established goals. It may involve liaison activities and collateral contacts.
- Identifying the needs of a client that cannot be met by the counselor or agency and assisting the client to utilize the support systems and community resources available.
- Maintains credentials per licensure standards by participating in supervision and attending qualifying training to acquire CEU’s for licensure maintenance.
- Prompt and dependable attendance and scheduling.
- Displays a courteous and caring attitude towards clients, co-workers, visitors and referral sources.
- Understands, abides by and promotes agency policy, procedure and requirements.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Education and Experience:
- At minimum, PLADC in pursuit of LADC
- Working knowledge and commitment to the 12 step recovery program
- Demonstrates exceptional written communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Exhibits the utmost professional and ethical behavior
- Valid driver license/acceptable driving record.
- Ability to manage direct reports.
- Effective time management.
- Knowledge of community resources
- Recognize competencies and limitations.
Preferred:
- LADC
- Experience in residential setting
- Experience in gender specific setting
