What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director, Human Resources position at Santa Monica-Malibu Unified?
Under professional direction of the Assistant Superintendent-Human Resources, the Director of Human Resources is responsible for guiding and overseeing the district’s comprehensive employee recruitment and retention efforts, including the coordination, recruitment, selection, and hiring of certificated personnel for the District. Primary functions are to work with staff in building a highly-qualified workforce to promote the district’s strategic plan, mission, vision and goals; to manage and implement human resources data systems; and to enhance internal staff capabilities. Additionally, this position assists in other key human resources functions, including: staffing, resource allocation, staff orientation and training, monitoring compliance with Federal, state and local laws and policy, collective bargaining, grievances, working conditions and discipline procedures.
Located in the scenic, sea-side communities of Santa Monica and Malibu, the Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District is a preK-12 school district serving approximately 8,835 students.
