What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Business Development position at Santa Monica Rehabilation Center?
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Build facility census mix based on budgeted census with appropriate ratio of Medicare, Managed Care, Medi-Cal and private residents.
· Make daily contact with acute care case managers, social workers, discharge planners and physicians.
· Assess potential patients in the local hospitals and answer their questions about the facility.
· Maintain a database of physician and case manager contact information and profiles.
· Manage patient family relationships as part of the admissions process.
· Work closely with facility interdisciplinary team to determine if potential patients meet facility acuity and financial requirements.
· Develop creative and effective marketing tactics that will attract referrals and build strong relationships in the medical community.
· Travel to local acute care hospitals, physician offices and other locations within the market area.
· Give facility tours in the local market.
· Participate in local community events that will directly increase facility’s census and reputation.
· Meet with patients and his/her family members upon admission to the facility and fill out facility-required admission paperwork.
· Maintain confidentiality of verbal and written information pertaining to residents, facility operations and staff.
· Other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS
Education / Licensure
High school diploma or GED preferred
Qualifications / Experience
Minimum 2 years experience in skilled nursing facility/Hospital or Home Health environment
Minimum 3 years experience in Marketing
Knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid insurance systems
Knowledge of Healthcare and Hospital systems
Working Conditions
May be subjected to odors, dust, disinfectants, tobacco smoking or air contaminants
May be exposed to infectious waste, diseases, conditions, etc., including TB and the AIDS and Hepatitis B viruses
May be working in a warm environment
Physical Requirements
Must be able to move intermittently throughout the day through all areas of the facility
Must be able to stand, bend, twist and reach throughout the day
Repetitive hand motion
Must be able to push, pull, move and or lift up to 25 lbs. to a minimum height of 5 feet and be able to push, pull, move,
and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 15 feet

Pay: $100,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
