Salary Range: $135,000 yr to $155,000 yr (DOE) and incentive bonus plan participation
About Us: Santa Monica Seafood Company is a HACCP-certified seafood processing plant dedicated to delivering high-quality seafood products while adhering to the highest standards of food safety and sustainability. We are seeking an experienced Production Planning Manager to join our team and oversee the efficient scheduling and coordination of our production processes.
Position Overview: The Production Planning Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing production schedules, managing inventory levels, and ensuring that the production plan fulfills Customer orders, and all operations comply with HACCP guidelines. Managing site raw material inventories, production formulas, and co-manufacturing production is also required. This role requires close collaboration with various departments, including Procurement, Receiving, Quality Assurance, and Logistics, to optimize production efficiency and meet customer demands.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties may be assigned):
Production Planning and Scheduling: Develop and manage detailed production plans to fulfill Customer orders and forecasted demand, ensuring optimal utilization of resources and adherence to timelines.
Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels of raw materials and finished products, coordinating with procurement to ensure timely availability of necessary materials.
Process Optimization: Analyze production workflows and implement improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and maintain product quality.
Compliance and Quality Assurance: Ensure all production activities comply with cGMP/HACCP standards and other relevant regulations, working closely with the Quality Assurance team to uphold food safety protocols.
Team Collaboration: Collaborate with department managers to align production plans with operational capabilities, addressing any constraints or challenges proactively.
Data Analysis and Reporting: Utilize production data to generate reports on performance metrics, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
Problem-Solving: Address and resolve any issues that may disrupt production schedules, such as equipment malfunctions or supply shortages.
Perform other lawful duties and responsibilities as required or requested by management.

· Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Food Science, or a related field.
· Minimum of 5 years of experience in production planning within the food processing industry; experience in fish or seafood processing is highly desirable.
· In-depth knowledge of cGMP/HACCP principles and food safety regulations.
· Proficiency in production planning software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
· Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to work collaboratively across departments.
· Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to managing challenges.
· Must be organized, self-motivated, and proactive with a strong attention to detail
