What are the responsibilities and job description for the Warehouse Loader/ Freezer/Fresh Room position at Santa Monica Seafood Company?
Santa Monica Seafood, a family-owned company, has been in the seafood business for over 80 years. Our Mission is to provide the highest quality selection of seafood products at a fair and reasonable price, while recognizing the importance throughout conservation, and maintenance of a healthy environment. We are searching for experienced warehouse fresh room, dock and freezer associates who can help us achieve our planned growth by providing excellent customer service. Qualifications: High energy and enthusiastic. High school diploma or equivalent required, excellent time management, organizational, problem solving and communications skills required; ability to multitask and prioritize; ability to work individually and as a part of a team; must have a high level of accuracy and be detail oriented; mature, professional attitude; must have a consistent work history and excellent safety record. Forklift certification a plus. Must be able to lift 75 pounds. Must be able to work in cold and wet environment.
Duties include:
- Receiving and unloading of incoming product
- Inspects fresh product returns and ensures proper handling.
- Pulls and packs product based on daily orders.
- Meets specifics of customer orders in a timely manner.
- Keeps products separated, organized and in good rotation.
- Monitors product quality frequently, reporting problems to mitigate safety issues.
- inventory – verify count, product, and put away
- Order pulling – bulk pull product, order assembly, order staging
- Staging and Loading trucks for next day delivery
- High level of accuracy and detail oriented
- Labeling packages, shipments etc.
- Other duties as assigned by Plant Manager
