We are seeking an experienced District Sales Manager to lead our team of outside sales representatives in the wholesale seafood industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing sales performance, developing strategic plans, and fostering strong relationships with key foodservice accounts, including restaurants, upscale multi-unit full-service restaurants, resorts, casinos, broadline distributors, and institutions such as universities and hospitals.
Key Responsibilities:
Under the general guidance of the Regional Sales Vice President the District Sales Manager will be responsible for:
- Sales Leadership: Manage and motivate a team of outside sales representatives to achieve sales targets and expand market share in the designated district.
- Strategic Planning: Develop and execute district sales strategies to increase revenue and profitability, focusing on key accounts and emerging market trends.
- Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and new customers, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and loyalty.
- Performance Management: Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide coaching and training to sales representatives, and ensure adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Market Analysis: Stay informed about market conditions, competitor activity, and product innovations to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
- Reporting and Forecasting: Prepare and analyze sales reports, forecasts, and other business metrics to inform strategic decisions.
- Team Development: Recruit, train, and develop new sales talent to ensure a strong and effective sales team.
Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years in sales management within the wholesale foodservice distribution or seafood industry.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
- Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software.
- Travel: Ability to travel up to 50% of the time within the district and occasionally to company headquarters or industry events.
