SPEECH & LANGUAGE THERAPIST
Summary of Responsibilities: The Speech and Language Therapist administers and coordinates diagnostic, therapeutic and consultative functions relative to communication disorders. Establishes and teaches programs when appropriate for communication disorders. Receives and processes referrals for speech and language disorders. Participates in Individual Education Plan (IEP) meetings and initiates IEP’s for qualified students who need speech and language remediation. Conducts preschool speech and language evaluations when needed.
Qualifications:
1. Appropriate California Teaching Credential authorizing
service as a speech and language therapist.
2. Good oral and written communication skills.
3. Demonstrated knowledge and skills in the administration of a speech and language program.
4. Knowledge of instructional methodologies appropriate to
a speech and language program.
5. Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with
administration, staff, parents, and other agencies.
The Santa Rita Union School District (SRUSD), located in the heart of the Salinas Valley of Monterey County, and is comprised of approximately 3600 students from Pre-School through Eighth Grade.
