What are the responsibilities and job description for the YOUTH INTERN (R.I.S.E. YOUTH INTERNSHIP PROGRAM) position at Santa Rosa County?
- Answer phone inquiries, direct calls, and provide basic department information.
- Assist with mail deliveries, packages, and receipt of interoffice courier mail.
- Perform general office support, copy, and scan, take notes, type documents, drafts, and reports.
- Assist in preparing information and research materials, maintaining files, and organizing documents and materials.
- Run general industry related errands.
- Assist in preparing information and research materials, documents, and preparing information for meetings or presentations.
- Use computer software and databases, input information, data, and reports.
- May assist with field work or site visits based on assignment.
- Set up, break down, and maintain conference rooms, training rooms, and meeting rooms for special events and programs.
- May assist with imaging systems, photography, videography, and update supervised social media and website content based on assignment.
- Perform assigned duties specific to the operational needs of the operating department where the internship is performed.
- May shadow multiple positions and train in a variety of tasks.
- Interacts with the public in an effective and courteous manner.
- Must demonstrate commitment to our mission, vision, values, and goals and represent the County in a professional, dignified manner at all times both in actions and appearance.
- Must attend required training, safety programs and job-specific training as assigned; ensure compliance with safety procedures.
- Must be able to meet minimum attendance standards as established.

KNOWLEDGE OF: English usage, spelling, grammar, and punctuation; arithmetic and basic mathematical calculations.
ABILITY TO: On a continuous basis, sit at desk and/or stand at counter for long periods of time; know and understand the job and observe safety rules. Intermittently, sit while studying or preparing work papers, making computations, working at computer equipment; walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel and twist while performing field work; perform simple and power grasping, pushing, pulling, and fine manipulation; and see and hear sufficiently to communicate by visual and auditory signals while working in the field; lift moderate to heavy weight depending upon the needs of the assignment. Learn a variety of administrative and professional tasks. Learn to prepare effective reports and make recommendations on assigned matters under study. Work with various cultural and ethnic groups in a tactful and effective manner. Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
Must be 16-20 years of age at time of application. Must be a resident of Santa Rosa County at the time of application and for the duration of program participation, proof of address is required.

LICENSURE AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS:
