COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
• Salary Range:Yearly Salary of $84,450.00 -$118,479.00 (24/25 Faculty Salary Schedule); Placement within this range is determined by teaching experience, other related professional experience, and academic degrees. This is a full-time, regular contract position in the Disability Resources/ Kinesiology, Athletics & Dance Department at Santa Rosa Junior College, beginning Fall Semester, August 2025. Essential Functions
DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
The Adapted Physical Education Program (Adapted P.E.) began in 1974 and provides a variety of credit and non-credit adapted curriculum for students with verified limitations from disability. We offer a rich variety of physical fitness classes that are modified to meet the needs of students with disabilities who could not otherwise benefit from non-adapted Physical Education classes such as weight training, swimming, functional movement, Pilates and dance. Students participating in Adapted P.E. develop skills that lead to the goal of participation in non-adapted P.E. classes and benefit in their overall health and welfare which support them in their general college participation. The program is well-established and respected throughout California and has bridged students from the Disability Resources Department (DRD) with resources from Kinesiology, Athletics and Dance (KAD) for over 50 years.

Essential Functions:
• Oversite of the Adapted P.E. program including DSPS eligibility and onboarding of new students, establish Academic Accommodation Plans, manage a caseload of Adapted P.E. students and records/reports per Title 5 Ed Code, create student conduct or access plans for students as needed.• Provide Classroom instruction which may include both in-person and online, lab and lecture courses for spring, fall, and summer sessions for a diverse range of students with a variety of physical and intellectual needs.• Assess students for appropriate participation, establish final rosters, and manage student registration in collaboration with Adapted P.E. instructors and lead Lab Assistant.• Curriculum and program development, data tracking, student learning outcomes, and outreach to students, District and community including the College-to-Career program.• Manage program's Foundation account, fundraising, and donations.• Oversee program's Internship program.• Schedule development including maintaining established load and length-of-service, develop offers of assignment, and coordinate support staff schedules.• Support faculty and staff including tracking and performing evaluations.• Organize lifeguard and first-aid training renewal and recertification.• Oversite and maintenance of equipment and environments.• Advocate for disabled students at the College and collaborate with associate faculty, support staff, and community partners to enhance the Adapted P.E. program.• Participate in department and District committees related to disability advocacy and access.

• Master's in physical education, exercise science, education with an emphasis in physical education, kinesiology, physiology of exercise or adaptive physical education AND 15 semester units of upper division or graduate study in adapted physical education
OR• Bachelor's in any of the above AND Master's in any life science, dance, physiology, health education, recreation administration or physical therapy AND 15 semester units of upper division or graduate study in adapted physical education
