What are the responsibilities and job description for the Ice Skating Instructor position at Santa's Village LLC?
The Learn to Skate USA Coach will provide instruction to skaters of all ages and skill levels following the Learn to Skate USA curriculum. The coach will foster a safe, fun, and positive learning environment ensuring that each participant develops fundamental skating skills and a love for the sport.
Coaches must have a current Learn to Skate USA Instructor Membership.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Teach group lessons according to the Learn to Skate USA curriculum
- Develop lesson plans that align with the program’s goals and accommodate different learning styles
- Ensure participants are learning proper techniques and progressing through skill levels
- Maintain a safe environment on and off the ice by enforcing facility rules and program guidelines
- Create a welcoming and encouraging atmosphere
- Provide positive feedback and constructive corrections to help skaters improve
- Maintain open communication with skaters and their parents/guardians about progress and upcoming events
- Provide participant evaluations and class placements
- Keep accurate attendance records and document individual progress
- Support program registration, promotions, and special events
- Attend periodic staff meetings and training session
