What are the responsibilities and job description for the PM Laundry Attendant position at Santa Ynez Valley Marriott?
Welcome to the Santa Ynez Valley Marriott. Conveniently located 30 minutes north of Santa Barbara and 3 miles from Solvang, the Danish Capital of America. The Marriott is in the heart of Santa Barbara Wine Country that is famous for its 80 vineyards and wineries, cycling, golf courses and Vandenberg Air Force Base.

LAUNDRY ATTENDANT RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Examines laundry items to ensure cleanliness and usability.
- Stores linen items on shelves in the linen rooms on all floors, ensuring that each is stocked well with what House Persons and Room Attendants may need.
- Check restrooms and clean, if needed. Sinks and mirrors are to be spotless.
- Iron pillow cases for the next day and have ready in the laundry linen room.
- Check public telephones, clean if necessary.
- Separate, weigh and prepare linen for washing based on linen type and size.
- Set washers and dryers when linen is present.
- Check all filters on dryers daily, clean/empty if necessary.
- Retrieve dirty linen bins from north and south sides and separate linen by type.
- Collect used glassware from the Room Attendant carts on all floors. Pretreat for washing if necessary and ask Kitchen Dishwasher to run through the wash. Polish glasses after they’ve been washed and leave with sign for morning shift that they are ready.
- Fold any and all dry towels and replenish linen rooms and leave any leftover in the laundry linen room.
- Answer radio and phone calls from At Your Service (AYS) to take amenities, linen or room servicing.
LAUNDRY ATTENDANT REQUIREMENTS:
- English language and professional communication skills are required.
- Ability to take direction.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure.
- Must have problem solving abilities, be self-motivated and organized.
- Basic understanding of professional cooking and knife handling skills.
- Understand and knowledge of safety, sanitation and food handling procedures.
- Supervisory experience.
- Prep or Line Cook experience.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $16.50 - $17.00 per hour
