What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mental Health Technician - Overnight position at Sante Center for Healing?
Locally owned and operated, Santé Center for Healing’s goal is to provide individuals and families long-term recovery. From a beautiful wooded hilltop in Argyle (outside of Denton), Santé’s expert clinical and medical staff specialize in substance use disorders, mental health, dual diagnosis and poly-addiction, problematic sexual behavior, co-occurring disordered eating, compulsive behavior…and ultimately the trauma so often underneath it all. And we’ve been making “miracles happen on the hill” for 25 years.
Because research supports a longer length of stay and a continuum of care are more likely to support long-term recovery, Santé’s levels of care include, but are not limited to: medical detox, residential treatment, intensive outpatient (day and evening), transitional living, maintaining proper boundaries course, family programming, outpatient clinic, and relapse prevention through lifelong alumni services.
This position provides a vital support services to the Treatment Team by monitoring the patients’ safety, interacting with the patients, and providing documentation on patient activities.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Monitors patient activities for health and safety and for compliance with weekly activities. Redirects patients to the policies of the facility.
- Conducts safety checks on all patients throughout the shift. Reports any abnormalities immediately.
- Participates in the admission process. Completes required paperwork.
- Completes patient assessments and analysis as required.
- Obtain and enter biometrics on all patients. Documents the results in electronic medical records and reports any concerns or abnormalities to the medical staff.
- Conducts searches as needed on personal belongings, rooms, and vehicles.
- Administers testing for drug, alcohol, and tobacco usage.
- Communicates significant events or information to the Treatment Team. Documents critical information in patient records, and completes Accident/Incident Reports as needed.
- Provides transportation services for patients with off campus pre-approved appointments.
- Checks in visitors as needed and monitors visitation, per policy.
- Checks patients in and out who have been approved for passes and therapeutic leave.
- Attends and participates in shift change meetings, required staff training, patient groups, and unit meetings.
- Responds to emergency situations per protocol.
