Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse - Infusion to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in nursing with a focus on infusion therapies. This role involves providing high-quality patient care, administering medications, and ensuring the safety and comfort of patients receiving infusion treatments. The Registered Nurse will work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive care in various settings, including home community care.
Duties
- Administer IV infusions and medications as prescribed by the physician.
- Monitor patients for adverse reactions during infusion therapy and respond appropriately.
- Maintain accurate patient records, documenting treatment plans, progress notes, and medication administration.
- Educate patients and their families about infusion therapies, potential side effects, and home care instructions.
- Implement infection control protocols to ensure patient safety during procedures.
- Perform sterile processing of equipment used in infusion therapy.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop individualized care plans for patients.
- Provide support in emergency situations, utilizing trauma medicine knowledge as needed.
- Conduct assessments of patients' health status and report any changes to the healthcare team.
Skills
The successful candidate will possess the following skills:
- Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology related to infusion therapy.
- Proficiency in sterile processing techniques to maintain a safe environment for patients.
- Experience with trauma medicine and emergency response protocols.
- Ability to catheterize patients when necessary for treatment purposes.
- Expertise in medication administration, including understanding dosages and potential interactions.
- Familiarity with infection control practices to minimize risks during procedures.
- Knowledge of ICD-10 coding for accurate documentation and billing processes.
- Proficient in IV infusion techniques and management of infusion devices.
- Experience in home community care settings is a plus, enhancing patient comfort outside traditional healthcare facilities.
- Strong communication skills to effectively educate patients and collaborate with healthcare teams.
