Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse - Infusion to join our healthcare team. This role is essential in providing high-quality patient care, particularly in administering IV infusions and other related treatments. Duties
- Administer IV infusions and medications as prescribed by physicians.
- Monitor patients for adverse reactions during infusion therapy.
- Conduct triage assessments to determine the urgency of patient needs.
- Provide education and support to patients and families regarding treatment plans.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams within the hospital setting to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Document patient care activities accurately in electronic health records, including systems like Athenahealth.
- Assist with procedures such as injections, sutures, and ventilatory support when necessary.
- Participate in family planning discussions and provide relevant resources to patients.
- Engage in continuous professional development and training opportunities within a teaching hospital environment.
Skills
- Proficient in IV infusion techniques and experience administering injections.
- Strong triage skills with the ability to prioritize patient needs effectively.
- Knowledge of internal medicine principles and practices.
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems, particularly Athenahealth.
