Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse - Infusion to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality infusion therapy to patients in a clinical setting, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the treatment process. This role requires strong clinical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals.
Duties
- Administer IV infusions and injections according to established protocols and patient care plans.
- Conduct triage assessments to determine patient needs and prioritize care effectively.
- Monitor patients during infusion therapy, observing for any adverse reactions or complications.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare staff to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient records in compliance with hospital policies.
- Provide education and support to patients regarding their treatment options, including family planning as needed.
- Assist in suturing procedures as required, ensuring adherence to safety standards.
- Utilize Athenahealth software for patient management and record keeping.
- Participate in continuous education and training programs to enhance nursing skills, particularly in internal medicine.
Skills
- Proficient in IV infusion techniques and experience administering injections.
- Strong triage skills with the ability to assess patient conditions quickly and accurately.
- Knowledge of internal medicine practices and protocols.
- Experience working in a hospital or teaching hospital environment is preferred.
- Ability to ventilate patients if necessary, demonstrating critical thinking under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective patient interaction and documentation.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing multiple patients' needs.
