Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse - Infusion to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality infusion therapy to patients in various settings, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the process. This role requires a strong background in nursing, particularly in areas such as geriatrics, pediatrics, and pain management. The Registered Nurse will collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
Responsibilities
- Administer intravenous medications and therapies as prescribed by physicians.
- Monitor patients for adverse reactions during infusion therapy and respond appropriately.
- Conduct thorough assessments of patients' health status, including vital signs and medical history.
- Provide education to patients and families regarding treatment plans, medication administration, and self-care techniques.
- Perform specimen collection processing as needed for laboratory tests.
- Assist in pain management strategies for patients undergoing treatment.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient care activities in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care delivery.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and training related to infusion practices.
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
- Experience in infusion therapy or related nursing fields preferred.
- Knowledge of geriatrics, pediatrics, long-term care, home community care, and infant care is highly desirable.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; additional certifications such as Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) are a plus.
- Proficient in performing spinal taps and other necessary procedures.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively.
- Ability to lift and assist patients as needed during treatment procedures.
