IT Technician B

Position Description

• This position’s role is to support the stable operation of the Santee Cooper Infrastructure within the company's two production data centers, disaster recovery data center and approximately 65 remote locations. This includes installing, configuring, maintaining, and optimizing all hardware, software, and cabling while ensuring minimal system downtime. The incumbent will also diagnose, resolve, and document hardware and software problems. Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures within this field. Incumbent also stays abreast of technological changes in the industry as pertains to job objectives. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Works with moderate supervision.
  
  
  

Essential Job Tasks:

• Applies developed analytical skills/experience and uses standard operating procedures or guidelines to document, maintain, upgrade, install, and troubleshoot hardware. Makes recommendations for improvements.
• Applies developed analytical skills/experience and uses standard operating procedures or guidelines to document, maintain, upgrade, install, and troubleshoot software. Makes recommendations for improvements.
• Applies developed analytical skills/experience and uses standard operating procedures or guidelines to document, maintain, upgrade, install, and test copper CAT5E and SM and MM Fiber cable. Makes recommendations for improvements.
• Performs on-call 24x7 support at local and remote locations throughout South Carolina.
• Maintains hardware and software inventory following standard operating procedures or guidelines.
• Develops scripts to automate processes.

IT Technician B

• High School Diploma/GED 2 years experience in the Information Technology field, Associate's Degree in related field 1 year experience or Bachelor's Degree in related field.
• Requires Intermediate knowledge of networking concepts; PC and networking hardware; and server software and operating systems.
  
  
  

Compensation Information:

$26.45 - $33.05 (min. - mid.)

IT Technician A

• High School Diploma/GED 5 years experience, Associate's Degree in related field 2 years experience or Bachelor's Degree in related field 1 year experience.
• Requires knowledge of networking concepts; PC and networking hardware; and server software and operating systems.

$36.25 - $45.20 (min. - mid.)
