Position Description
The Occupational Health Nurse II promotes health and wellness through identification of work related risk factors, appropriate testing, counseling, evaluation and referral. Assessment of the needs of the client population and work environment. Plans, implements and evaluates programs and services that addresses these needs and optimizes overall health of the work force.
Essential Job Tasks:
Performs annual health evaluations to include comprehensive lab work, vision screenings, audio metric testing and management of hearing conservation program for all employees.
Provides individual health education and primary care provider referrals.
Promotes health with a comprehensive assessment of lifestyles and physiological risks providing cost effective means to improve employee health, productivity and job performance.
Performs mandated physicals for employees who fall within the parameters of OSHA and NIOSH.
Maintains health, administrative and program records, safeguarding confidentiality of employee health as outlined by Health Insurance Portability and accountability act (HIPPA) and American Disabilities Act (ADA).
Provides principals of triage and basic emergency care for employees with work related injuries and illness to achieve desired outcome by identifying treatment needs, providing in-house treatment when appropriate, and making referrals as necessary to external resources.
Knowledge of and coordination with community and company resources for employees, providing counseling, crisis intervention, and referrals for drug, alcohol, emotional and stress related issues through the company employee assistance program (EAP).
Position Requirements

Occupational Health Nurse II
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from an accredited school of Nursing 2 years experience in an Occupational Health setting or Associate's Degree in Nursing 4 years experience in an Occupational Health setting.
Must be a professional registered nurse, currently licensed to practice in South Carolina with a certificate in CPR and first aid.
Must obtain certification in audiometry within a reasonable period of time.
Certified Occupational Health Nurse Specialist - COHN-s is encouraged but education level could be considered; Certified Case Manager is encouraged (CCM) but is not necessary.
Certification from the American Board of Occupational Health Nurses is preferred.
