Minneapolis Immigration Law Firm

Seeking experienced Counsel Family Attorney to work ad hoc on a case-by-case

basis.

We are a small but growing Immigration and Family law firm on track for rapid growth seeking an experienced Family Attorney to work ad hoc on a case-by-case basis.

We want to be known for helping clients come out of an extremely emotional process feeling as though they are a better person, in a better position, and that they had a team behind them that really cared and fought for them. We are growing fast, and we need an attorney who can hit the ground running.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research and draft pleadings, briefs, and motions
  • Provide legal counsel to clients by analyzing their needs and determining a proper course of action
  • Analyze client needs, identify solutions, and determine case strategies
  • Prepare various legal documents, such as motions, pleadings, briefs, and correspondence
  • Oversee paralegals, law clerks, and administrative staff
  • Argue motions in court on behalf of clients during legal proceedings

    • Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of legal research programs such as Fastcase, Westlaw, and Lexis products is required
  • Efficient time management
  • Critical thinking
  • Multitasking abilities
  • Skilled in negotiation, debate, and persuasion techniques
  • Proficient in civil procedure and discovery

    • Family Law Attorney Roles Responsibilities

  • Provide representation for clients in court in legal cases as pertains to Immigration and Family Law
  • Uphold a steady schedule of hearings, court appearances, and conferences
  • Attend trials and court proceedings
  • Oversee and manage the legal issues that transpire between people who are members of the same family
  • Interact routinely with caseworkers, supervisors, program directors and
  • program administrators
  • Supervise and direct mediation sessions, and offer effective legal advice
  • Organize and record all official documents required to file cases
  • Update clients regularly about their cases
  • Jobseekers should be a member of their local bar association - active member preferred Association
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office is required
  • Public speaking, decision-making, communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills are necessary for this role
  • Work independently while handling a heavy caseload
  • Graduation from law school with Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree and experience in representing clients for at least 2 years
