Summary of Position:
Under the direction of the TUA Utility Operations Manager, incumbent is responsible for organizing, supervising, and implementing projects for TUA divisional operations in compliance with Federal operating regulations for water distribution and transmission, wastewater, and solid waste systems. Incumbent will oversee Utility Operator(s) daily projects, schedules, and the efficiency of utility systems to ensure that Utility Operator(s) resources and personnel are effectively managed. Incumbent will also represent the TUA on various committees, associations, and projects and provide recommendations to TUA leadership for the development of policies and procedures to meet the Pueblo's short- and long-range utility plans. Work is performed with considerable independence and subject to review through reports and results achieved.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associates degree or technical training in water quality management or wastewater treatment technology; AND a minimum of four (4) years wastewater treatment field experience; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Water or Wastewater Operator Certification Level I required after 1 year of experience with Santo Domingo Pueblo Tribal Utility Authority as required by the Utility Operations Manager.
- Working knowledge of Geographical Information System (GIS) and experience with maps, and field surveying using traditional and GPS technology.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- A minimum of 3-5 years' experience managing people.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of fifty (50) pounds on a regular basis and sustain prolonged walking and standing.
- Ability to work extended working hours, including weekends, evenings, holidays, or "on call" may be required.
- Must be able to satisfactorily pass a background check and pre-employment drug screen.
- Valid New Mexico driver's license with ability to meet Santo Domingo Pueblo liability insurance requirements and maintain eligibility for insurance.
