The Opportunity
SANY America, Inc., is a highly skilled Service Technician-Port Equipment to provide technical expertise, Key/National account and dealer support, and product improvement feedback for our port product line. This role will serve as the primary service liaison between key accounts, dealers, engineering, and the service team, ensuring efficient troubleshooting, training, and field support. The ideal candidate will be a problem solver with deep technical knowledge of port equipment, including their hydraulics, electrical systems, and diagnostics, and will play a key role in enhancing machine reliability, serviceability, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintenance & Repair:
- Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on port equipment, including cranes, forklifts, straddle carriers, and other heavy machinery.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues, providing efficient solutions to minimize equipment downtime.
- Replace or repair defective parts, components, and systems in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Preventative Maintenance:
- Carry out preventative maintenance schedules to ensure the reliability and longevity of port equipment.
- Monitor and log maintenance activities, including parts usage, hours of operation, and service history.
- Technical Support:
- Provide on-site technical support for port operations, assisting with troubleshooting and offering solutions for unexpected issues.
- Collaborate with senior engineers or external vendors when necessary to resolve complex technical problems.
- Safety Compliance:
- Adhere to all safety guidelines, company policies, and local regulations to ensure the safe operation of port equipment.
- Ensure that all equipment is in compliance with safety certifications and regulatory standards.
- Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of service reports, repair logs, and any other relevant documentation.
- Provide detailed reports on inspections, maintenance, and repairs performed to the operations team and management.
- Customer Service:
- Act as a point of contact for any equipment-related concerns and provide excellent customer service to port managers, operators, and other stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial technology is a plus.
