Position : SAP Production Planning (PP) Consultant

Location : Chicago, IL (Day 1 onsite)

Type : Full-Time

Role Overview :

We are seeking a highly experienced SAP Production Planning (PP) Consultant with deep expertise in manufacturing industry processes to lead strategic SAP S / 4HANA implementation projects . The successful candidate will work closely with business stakeholders to analyze current production planning and manufacturing processes, address pain points, and design robust, scalable solutions leveraging SAP S / 4HANA's advanced capabilities. This role is ideal for a professional with extensive experience in manufacturing operations, strong SAP PP configuration skills, and a passion for driving efficiency and innovation.

Key Responsibilities :

Strategic Leadership :

Lead end-to-end SAP S / 4HANA Production Planning (PP) implementations , serving as the primary advisor to clients.

Conduct workshops to gather detailed requirements, assess manufacturing challenges, and propose effective solutions.

Provide strategic guidance to clients, aligning SAP S / 4HANA capabilities with their business objectives.

SAP PP Expertise :

Configure and implement core SAP PP processes, including :

Production Planning and Control : Discrete, process, and repetitive manufacturing.

Material Requirements Planning (MRP) : Forecasting, planning, and scheduling.

Capacity Planning : Managing production capacity and work centers.

Shop Floor Execution : Integrating with manufacturing execution systems (MES).

Bill of Materials (BOM) and Routing Management : Design and optimize production structures.

Batch Management and Serialization : For industries with high traceability needs.

Leverage SAP S / 4HANA features such as Advanced Planning and Scheduling (APS) and Integrated Business Planning (IBP) for cutting-edge manufacturing solutions.

Process Analysis and Optimization :

Analyze clients' existing manufacturing processes, identify inefficiencies, and design optimized workflows.

Recommend industry best practices and configure SAP solutions to improve production efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance product quality.

Cross-Module Integration :

Ensure seamless integration of SAP PP with other modules, including MM (Materials Management), SD (Sales and Distribution), QM (Quality Management), PM (Plant Maintenance), and FI / CO (Finance and Controlling).

Client Engagement :

Build strong relationships with manufacturing clients by understanding their unique challenges and providing tailored solutions.

Lead workshops and training sessions to ensure effective knowledge transfer and adoption of new processes.

Act as the primary liaison between clients and technical teams to ensure alignment and timely delivery.

Implementation and Execution :

Oversee the configuration, testing, and deployment of SAP S / 4HANA solutions.

Support data migration, master data setup (materials, BOMs, and routings), and system integration.

Provide post-go-live support and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications :

Experience :

Minimum of 8 years of SAP experience, with at least 3 years focused on SAP S / 4HANA Production Planning .

Proven expertise in manufacturing processes, including experience with industries such as automotive, pharmaceuticals, consumer goods, or industrial manufacturing.

Strong knowledge of end-to-end manufacturing processes, including demand planning, production execution, and inventory management.

Skills :

Deep understanding of SAP PP configuration and related functionalities (MRP, BOMs, routings, shop floor control).

Strong experience integrating SAP PP with QM, MM, SD, and PM modules.

Knowledge of advanced tools like SAP IBP , SAP ME / MII , and APS solutions.

Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

Excellent communication and presentation skills for client-facing engagements.

Education :

Bachelor's degree with certifications in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.

SAP S / 4HANA certifications, particularly in Production Planning, are a strong plus.
