The Saphire Event Group, with four boutique event venues in the South Shore, is expanding and looking for a creative and organized Social Media Specialist. The ideal candidate will have a very high level of knowledge in all social media platforms, great writing skills, and a good eye for creativity.

Marketing Assistant

The Marketing Assistant is responsible for creating engaging content to grab the attention of couples looking for their perfect wedding venue. Through amazing photos, creative social media posts, interesting and helpful blog articles, and consistent and effective written and visual advertising, the Social Media Specialist is the storyteller of the most important day of our couple’s lives.

RESPONSIBILITIES : JOB PURPOSE

The purpose of the Marketing Assistant is to support the Marketing and Social Media Manager with marketing and outreach efforts on behalf of Saphire Event Group.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

The Marketing Assistant is responsible for aiding the Marketing and Social Media Manager with the creation and execution of marketing materials, daily tasks, and representing the company to the public.

DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO

  • Assisting the Marketing and Social Media Manager as needed
  • Compiling weekly marketing statistics
  • Working with vendors to obtain photos and approvals
  • Updating and maintaining the photo library
  • Assisting with the creation of a quarterly newsletter
  • Checking in with advertising sites to ensure that information is accurate
  • Managing the “Pillow” thank you program, including keeping an organized tracking system, ordering supplies, printing thank you notes, processing shipments, and tracking follow-up surveys
  • Checking and distributing new event reviews to the SEG team weekly
  • Helping to update the SEG website when necessary
  • Assisting the Marketing and Social Media Manager with content creation and ideas for social media posts, including Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and blog posts
  • Creating seasonal photo collages to assist the sales team
  • Assisting the Marketing and Social Media Manager at events and programs to promote the organization’s social media efforts

Requirements

EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or communications from a four-year college or university; or four years of related experience and / or training.
  • Ability to multitask while keeping attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • Must have strong knowledge of Word, Excel, CMS, and photo editing software.
  • Good knowledge of all social media mediums.
  • Passion for events and weddings.
  • Must be energetic and confident.
  • Working knowledge of customer and market dynamics and requirements.
  • Basic understanding of sales principles and customer service practices.
  • Must be organized, creative, and knowledgeable about a variety of religious and cultural customs.
  • LANGUAGE SKILLS

    Above-average communication skills, both written and verbal. Expected to get business in the door through innovative and persuasive writing skills. Must possess good networking skills and ability to deal with our vendors to close deals; ability to explain product features and benefits in comparison to competing brands.
