Sapience is a technology and education company based in Las Vegas, transforming how students learn by leveraging modern systems and digital tools. As we grow our operations and platforms, we are building an in-house engineering team and need a talented Azure Engineer to support our cloud infrastructure, network security, and systems optimization.
Role Overview
The Azure Engineer will be responsible for the architecture, deployment, monitoring, and management of our Azure-based infrastructure. This on-site role requires strong technical expertise in Azure services, identity management, network architecture, and DevOps practices to help scale and secure our digital platforms.
Key Responsibilities
Cloud Infrastructure & Deployment
- Design, deploy, and manage Azure-based cloud environments for internal systems and client-facing platforms.
- Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like ARM templates, Terraform, or Bicep.
- Monitor system performance and implement solutions for scaling and redundancy.
Security & Compliance
- Manage Azure AD and ensure secure authentication and authorization policies.
- Implement and monitor security protocols, firewalls, encryption, and access controls.
- Perform regular audits and vulnerability assessments to ensure compliance with industry best practices.
Automation & Optimization
- Automate routine processes using PowerShell, Azure CLI, or other scripting tools.
- Optimize cloud spend and system performance by tracking usage metrics and scaling resources accordingly.
- Set up alerts, monitoring dashboards, and automated backups for disaster recovery readiness.
Collaboration & Support
- Work closely with engineering, product, and operations teams to support infrastructure needs.
- Provide on-site technical support for system upgrades, outages, and troubleshooting.
- Create clear documentation for configurations, workflows, and standard operating procedures.
Qualifications and Experience
- 3–5 years of experience working with Microsoft Azure in a DevOps or Infrastructure Engineer capacity.
- Hands-on experience with Azure services like Azure AD, Virtual Machines, App Services, Functions, Blob Storage, and Networking.
- Strong knowledge of PowerShell, Azure CLI, and infrastructure automation tools.
- Experience in managing firewalls, VPNs, and network security groups.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and deployment strategies in Azure.
- Azure certifications (AZ-104, AZ-305, or similar) preferred.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Located in Las Vegas or willing to relocate – this role is fully on-site.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary Range: $60,000 – $70,000 USD annually, based on experience and qualifications.
