Sapientai (a.k.a. Sapient AI) is an ML / AI company in Austin, TX positioned for rapid growth and looking for a strongly self-motivated, ambitious candidate with a background in computational engineering / mathematics / plasma physics and software development to join our team. Sapientai specializes in high-tech, innovation-driven technologies, while maintaining the adaptive and agile core of a fast-moving startup. The current opening will have a primary focus on fusion energy, expanding into related workflows and other high-tech industries.

Qualifications

PhD or MSc in Plasma Physics, Nuclear Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Engineering, Computational Sciences or similar technical field.
Good communicator.
Collaborative team player with the confidence to also drive initiatives independently.
Adept multitasker who thrives in dynamic environments.
Creative and resourceful approach to problem-solving.
Functional proficiency in Python, with an enthusiasm for software development.
Sharp analytical and troubleshooting skills.
Experience in ML / AI, broad knowledge, knowledge in statistical methodologies, multi-task classifiers, multi-view learning, etc.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and innovate by adapting, refining, and deploying SOTA AI / ML / ADA techniques.

Shape our infrastructure to boost service deployment capabilities (DevOps).

Collaborate with our esteemed clientele to seamlessly integrate our products (MLOps).

Strategize and gear up for an accelerated growth phase.

Preferred Competencies

Expertise and / or interest in learning plasma physics / nuclear engineering.

Solid grasp of intricate mathematical and computational methodologies; particularly, in classifiers and multi-task classification.

A natural curiosity, paired with a drive for self-directed learning and exploration.

Hands-on experience in data science, coupled with skills in explainable AI.

Extensive proficiency in python frameworks such as Keras, Tensorflow, PyTorch, Jax, Dash, etc.

Full stack development experience (especially experience in Electron).
