The position of employment based paralegal requires a highly skilled and experienced paralegal. Ideal candidates must first align with our firm's vision/mission of providing personalized and high quality work with an approach that prioritizes our firm's ultimate objective of improving our client's lives.
Candidates that are a fit for our culture and vision, must also possess a deep understanding of various areas of law, including procedural steps for PERM, O-1, H1B, and TN cases. The employment based paralegal will be responsible for assisting the employment based legal team with preparation of applications, compiling of support packets, electronic application filing with the department of labor, communicating with clients regarding case status, providing regular case updates, and conducting light legal research for assigned topics.
Duties
- Assist attorney(s) with PERM, O-1, H1B, TN, and H2B cases to including but not limited to:
- Application preparation, document collection, compiling of support packets, drafting of support letters, efiling of applications, submitting paper applications via mail to appropriate government offices, client communication throughout process, informing clients of case decisions, and opening and closing files in digital client portal.
- Communicate with clients and provide case updates as well as answers to questions arising throughout their case process and after approval
- Conduct light legal research to support case strategies.
- Draft and review legal documents including applications, support packets, and legal memos
- Assist with identifying issues and proposing solutions to support forward case progression
- Take ownership and hold yourself accountable for assigned case load and tasks
- Work openly and collaboratively with employment based legal team to achieve collective objectives
Qualifications
- Motivated by a willingness and desire to provide customized and quality personal service to clients
- 3-5 years experience with employment based immigration work, preferably PERM, H1B, and TN cases
- Minimum 2 years college education required for foundation of polished writing skills
- Some experience in legal research required
- Excellent analytical skills with strong attention to detail for quality control
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with an emphasis on client interaction
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment
- Commitment to maintaining ethical standards and confidentiality in all legal matters.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: Minimum $54,000; higher depending upon experience, project management and leadership qualifications
