Porter

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Porter to join our team. The Porter plays a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our Ristorante by washing and cleaning tableware, pots, pans, and cooking equipment. As our Porter, you will be responsible for maintaining a high caliber of cleanliness often working independently, outside restaurant service hours. You will help with receiving, stocking, and rotating orders. Responsible for yearly upkeep and tracking of kitchen equipment. This position involves various tasks that ensure a welcoming environment for both guests and staff. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and possess a strong work ethic.

Duties

• Promote, work, and act in a manner consistent with the mission of the Ristorante.
• Work independently outside normal restaurant service hours.
• Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of equipment and surfaces.
• Keep dishwasher clean and maintained
• Maintain kitchen work areas, equipment, or utensils in clean and orderly condition.
• Maintain and perform yearly cleaning tasks.
• Clean food preparation and production areas as required.
• Remove trash, placing it in designated pickup areas.
• Receive and store supplies.
• Attend all scheduled employee meetings and offers suggestions for improvement.
• Coordinate with and assist fellow employees to meet guests’ needs and support the operation of the restaurant.
• Fill-in for fellow employees where needed to ensure guest service standards and efficient operations.

Qualifications

Minimum:

• High school education or equivalent. Ability to work independently.

Preferred:

• Interest in cooking or culinary.
• Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not required.

• In order to perform the essential job functions of this position, candidate must have regular attendance.
• Individual should have well-developed habits of personal cleanliness and hygiene. Must possess the ability to read and write in English.
• Strong attention to detail to ensure high standards of cleanliness.
• Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively.
• Good communication skills for interacting with guests and staff.
• Physical stamina to perform cleaning duties that may involve lifting or standing for extended periods.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $16.00 per hour

Expected hours: 21 per week
