Sapori Trattoria, a well-loved Italian restaurant located in the heart of Chicago, is seeking an experienced and personable Maitre d’ to join our team. We pride ourselves on delivering an exceptional dining experience that blends authentic Italian cuisine with warm and attentive service. As a Maitre d’, you will be the face of our restaurant, ensuring a smooth flow of service and an unforgettable guest experience.
Key Responsibilities:- Greet guests with warmth and professionalism upon arrival.
- Manage and coordinate reservations, seating arrangements, and waitlist to optimize service flow in a high-volume setting.
- Lead and oversee the host team to ensure efficient and courteous service.
- Address and resolve any guest inquiries or concerns promptly.
- Collaborate with management and kitchen staff to ensure smooth communication and service.
- Assist with training and mentoring new hosts.
- Maintain the atmosphere and overall appearance of the front-of-house area.
- At least 1 year of experience as a lead host or Maitre d' in a high-volume restaurant.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong leadership abilities and a natural talent for hospitality.
- Ability to multitask and stay calm under pressure.
- Familiarity with reservation management systems and OpenTable is a plus.
- A passion for providing top-tier guest experiences in a fine dining environment.
