What are the responsibilities and job description for the Patient Service Representative position at Sapphire Community Health, Inc?
This Job Exists To: Greet patients and visitors in person or on the telephone; answers or refers inquiries, inputs data; optimizes patient satisfaction, provider time, and treatment room utilization by scheduling appointments in person or by telephone.
Primary Responsibilities
1. Keeps patient appointments on schedule by notifying providers of patient's arrival; reviewing service delivery compared to schedule; notifying provider of service delays.
2. Comforts patients by anticipating patients' anxieties; answering patients' questions; maintaining the reception area.
3. Assists in facilitation of treatment information in coordination with the medical records department.
4. Maintains patient accounts by obtaining, recording, and updating personal and financial information. When scheduling an appointment, carefully screens patients for new address, new patient visit or update registration and informs patient of adequate information that must be presented at time of check-in.
Scanning and categorization of patient information in the electronic medical record.
Provides information to callers according to the policies and procedures of Sapphire Community Health (SCH) and in accordance with HIPAA & HITECH.
Education and Experience
Graduation from high school or equivalent.
Two years of patient access/medical receptionist experience in a comparable healthcare setting.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.85 per hour
