JOB SUMMARY:
The Divisional Dietary Manager oversees the dietary operations within assigned skilled nursing centers, ensuring compliance with nutrition standards, food safety regulations, and resident satisfaction. This role manages dietary staff, collaborates with healthcare professionals, and develops nutrition programs that align with resident health and preferences.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Strategic Planning: Collaborates with regional and central support teams to implement dietary goals and objectives, ensuring alignment with company standards and resident needs.
- Performance Monitoring: Evaluates key performance indicators related to dietary services, including meal satisfaction, budget compliance, and food safety audits. Develop action plans to address performance gaps.
- Staff Management: Supervises dietary staff, providing mentorship and training. Conducts performance reviews and ensures adequate staffing and training compliance.
- Menu Development: Partners with the culinary team to design menus that are nutritionally balanced, appealing, and accommodating to individual dietary restrictions.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensures all dietary operations are in compliance with state and federal regulations regarding food safety, sanitation, and nutrition.
- Resident Interaction: Engages with residents to gather feedback on food preferences, dietary needs, and overall satisfaction. Implement changes based on feedback.
- Budget Management: Oversees dietary budgets, including cost control measures to minimize waste and optimize spending on food and supplies.
- Collaboration: Works closely with nursing and health services staff to ensure that nutrition plans meet the individual health needs of residents.
- Training and Development: Offers training programs for dietary staff on food safety, nutrition, and customer service to enhance their skills and professional development.
- Quality Assurance: Implements quality control measures to assess the effectiveness of dietary programs and services, making necessary adjustments to improve outcomes.
- Crisis Management: Quickly addresses any operational issues or emergencies related to dietary services, ensuring minimal disruption to resident care.
- Community Relationship: Maintains positive relationships with community partners and local food vendors to support sourcing and supply needs.
- Professional Development: Stays abreast of industry trends and best practices through continuing education and participation in professional organizations.

- This position has supervisory responsibilities over dietary staff.
- Ability to evaluate problems related to food service and nutrition, implementing effective solutions.
- Primarily works in a skilled nursing facility setting. Occasional travel may be required for training and meetings.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Certification or License as required by local regulations (Registered Dietitian preferred).
- Minimum of three years of experience in a dietary management role within senior living or skilled nursing settings.
- Proven experience in menu planning, food service management, and regulatory compliance.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or a related field preferred.
- Associate degree or equivalent work experience may be accepted based on state licensing requirements.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing, with staff, residents, and families.
- Ability to analyze budgets and maintain financial records related to dietary operations.
- Ability to evaluate problems related to food service and nutrition, implementing effective solutions.
