Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food service and a keen understanding of Japanese cuisine, particularly sushi preparation. This role requires attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment. As a Sushi Chef, you will be responsible for crafting high-quality sushi dishes that meet our standards of excellence while providing an exceptional dining experience for our guests.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and present a variety of sushi dishes, including nigiri, sashimi, and rolls, with precision and artistry.
• Ensure the highest standards of food safety and hygiene are maintained in the kitchen at all times.
• Select and source fresh ingredients, ensuring quality and freshness for all menu items.
• Collaborate with other kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation and ensure timely service.
• Maintain an organized kitchen workspace, including proper storage of ingredients and equipment.
• Stay updated on culinary trends and techniques to continuously improve skills and menu offerings.
• Assist in training junior kitchen staff on sushi preparation techniques and best practices.

Experience

• Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar role within the food industry is preferred.
• Strong knife skills and proficiency in food preparation techniques specific to sushi.
• Knowledge of Japanese culinary traditions and ingredients is highly desirable.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high-quality standards in meal preparation.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.00 – 50.00 per week
