SAR Academy, a private Jewish Day School in Riverdale, NY, is seeking a passionate and innovative STEM Educator to join our dynamic team. This full-time position is an exciting opportunity for an educator who is eager to inspire elementary and middle school students in the fields of Science, Technology, Emgineering and Mathematics.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement engaging, hands-on STEM lessons that foster creativity, problem-solving, and critical thinking.
- Teach and support students in STEM-related disciplines, including coding, 3D design, robotics, and makerspace activities.
- Develop interdisciplinary projects that integrate STEM concepts with other subjects.
- Maintain and enhance the school's makerspace and technology resources.
- Collaborate with teachers and administrators to integrate STEM learning into the broader curriculum.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging STEM trends and best practices in education.
Qualifications:
- Experience working with elementary and middle school students in a STEM-related capacity.
- Proficiency in coding (e.g., Scratch, Python, or similar), robotics (e.g., LEGO Spike Prime, VEX), 3D printing, and makerspace tools.
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Science, Technology, Education, or a related field preferred.
- Strong classroom management and instructional skills.
