SARA is looking for a remarkably talented, motivated, and experienced Facility Maintenance Technician to support activities out of our Colorado Springs, CO location. The candidate will have the opportunity to grow and learn surrounded by talented engineers, physicists, and technicians working on long-standing programs and new programs supporting our customers.
Core Responsibilities:
- Maintain, service, and conduct minor repairs on buildings and equipment
- Perform a variety of semiskilled duties in the areas of plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, electrical, painting, and Drywall
- Assist other workers with their tasks
- Comply with established safety guidelines and procedures
- Work from blueprints, manuals, written and/or verbal instruction

Back-up for Shipping & Receiving - handling incoming and outgoing shipments including freight packages and purchased materials, consisting of creating paperwork trails and shipment labels with attention to detail
- Validate shipping contents to purchase orders
- Escort visitors
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- HS Diploma or equivalent
- 2-5 years of general maintenance work experience
- Valid Drivers License
- Must have organizational skills and possess the ability to appropriately prioritize
- Basic computer skills, experience with Microsoft Office tool suite
- Moderate to strenuous physical effort, involving standing, sitting and use of hands while performing duties, manual dexterity, multiclimb coordination, climbing ladders, static strength (muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects), trunk strength (abdominal and lower back muscles to support the part of the body repeatedly or continuously in action), carrying or lifting up to 50 pounds
- Working environment is indoor, sometimes loud, reasonably clean, well-lighted and well-ventilated, moderate physical hazards may exist
- US Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance, if needed
Preferred Qualifications:
- 10 years of maintenance work experience
- Experience operating a forklift a plus
- Experience with hand and power tools
- Prior shipping/receiving/warehouse/inventory experience
- HVAC maintenance experience

Pay Range:
Salary at SARA is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $22 to $30 (hourly USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of SARA’s total compensation package for employees.
