What are the responsibilities and job description for the End User Support Engineer - Quant Hedge Fund - $100,000-175,000 Base Salary position at Saragossa?
Provide white glove, VIP service to a range of stakeholders at one of the world’s most successful multi-billion dollar Hedge Funds.
Given the total compensation on offer for this role, you’ll expect a high-pressure yet highly technical position where you’ll be able to choose your own path in terms of progression within the business. Whilst you’ll initially provide end user support, the future is up to you.
From a technical point of view, you’ll be faced with all kinds of problems. One issue could be that the Head of Trading can’t connect to their printer, another could be that a trader is struggling to connect remotely to their systems one morning. Alternatively, a member of the legal team may be having issues with Outlook and their MS Office license and that needs to be troubleshooted. You’re always going to be on hand to help anyone with anything, but that hopefully will excite you.
You’ll be solving these problems or escalating the issues to the right teams in the business if you can’t solve the issue. You have a range of technical experience and you’re eager to learn.
Whilst this role is challenging, exciting and fast paced, it’s expected that within a couple of years you’ll be ready to move on to another role within the business. There are plenty of opportunities to progress and explore new teams within the company, either in NYC or in the other locations across the world, of which there are many!
So, what experience do you need? It’s likely you’ve done this kind of role already, as it’s more of a mid-level position. Experience of working in a financial environment is pretty much essential, the closer to a trading floor, the better! It’s a Windows focused role, so knowledge of AD & Exchange will be key and PowerShell scripting experience would be a huge bonus.
