Senior Data Engineer (front office) - global commodities trading firm - Up to $170k base

You'd be joining a very small and tight-knit data engineering team of 5 , working side-by-side with world class investment professionals and data scientists in the front office. From data architecture design, to data ingestion pipeline optimization and management, your main focus will be on anything and everything data-related within the business.

Recognized globally as one of the top companies in the commodities trading space, this firm is extremely tech-driven and have placed technology at the heart of their business. In recent years, they've been putting an increased amount of emphasis on data science. They've drastically ramped up their presence generative AI space as well.

To give you a cleaner visualization of some of the projects you could be doing, the team has just finished on a project that tracked cargo vessel's raw data shipping locations (over 300 million records) in specified regions that enabled the data scientists to build a Supply & Demand Machine Learning model using time series data.

Upon joining, you'd jump straight into a massive data migration project, loading on-prem Oracle into Snowflake data warehouses. You'd be designing data ingestion pipelines from scratch, and using lots of Python and SQL to do so. You'd get to work extensively with ETL frameworks, writing pipelines to load millions of records, and building dashboards with business intelligence tools like Power BI and Tableau.

Additionally, you'll have a substantial advantage amongst other applicants if you have any experience with AI or ML technologies.

This is a hybrid position where you'll be required to work 3x per week at their headquarters in Stamford, Connecticut.

Salary : $150,000-$170,000
