HR Manager
Job Purpose Summary: The HR Manager is instrumental in advancing Sarah O.’s human resources related initiatives. This role encompasses implementing and administering HR programs, policies, and development activities. Responsibilities include overseeing all HR functions such as recruitment, team development, employee relations, performance management, benefits administration, and regulatory compliance. The HR Manager performs work with a high degree of latitude, ensuring that all HR practices align with company policies and objectives, cultivating a positive work environment, and providing strategic guidance and support to both employees and leadership.
Reports to: CEO/President
Pay Range: $82,500-$95,000 salary depending on experience

Key Responsibilities:
HR Projects and Initiatives:
- Develop and implement HR policies and procedures.
- Drive HR-related projects and initiatives aimed at improving organizational effectiveness.
- Enhance HR systems and processes.
- Gather and analyze internal and external data to benchmark HR and training practices against industry standards, ensuring the implementation of best practices.
Recruitment and Onboarding:
- Develop and post job openings, screen resumes, and conduct initial interviews.
- Coordinate and schedule interviews with hiring managers and candidates.
- Facilitate the onboarding process for new hires, including orientation, paperwork, and progress tracking.
- Update, create and revitalize all job descriptions and recruitment materials.
- Conduct check-ins with newly promoted employees and new hires at the 2-week, 30-day, and 60-day marks to ensure a smooth transition and address any concerns.
- Conduct research on compensation benchmarks for new positions or promotions to ensure competitive and equitable pay.
Training and Development:
- Coordinate with department leads to establish effective training plans for newly promoted employees and new hires, as well as to identify professional development opportunities.
- Provide leadership, coaching and mentoring to employees.
- Plans and executes training needed for HR related topics.
Employee Relations:
- Act as a point of contact for employee inquiries and concerns.
- Mediate and resolve conflicts between employees and management.
- Conduct investigations regarding employee complaints and issues, ensuring fair and consistent resolution.
- Coordinate and/or conducts retention related efforts such as stay interviews, exit interviews, annual performance reviews, etc.
- Handle all aspects of worker’s compensation including conducting annual audits, ensuring regulatory compliance, and evaluating policies to secure the most cost-effective coverage, along with other related responsibilities.
Performance Management:
- Oversee and guide the development and implementation of performance management and documentation systems.
- Support Directors with performance evaluations and feedback processes.
- Implement and communicate the structure and expectations regarding annual self-evals and leader-evals.
- Help address performance issues and create improvement plans.
Benefits Administration:
- Manage employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other perks.
- Assist employees with benefits enrollment, changes, and claims.
- Stay updated on benefits trends and regulations to ensure competitive and compliant offerings.
- Ensure all compensation practices are aligned with the organization’s pay philosophy across the organization.
- Process bi-weekly payroll.
- Monitor and stay informed about updates to payroll reporting, enrollment processes, and deduction changes.
- Facilitate communication between Sarah O. employees and benefit companies whenever facilitation is needed.
Regulatory Compliance and Record-Keeping:
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws and regulations.
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records and HR databases.
- Prepare and submit reports related to HR metrics and compliance.
- Administer and oversee leave processes such as FMLA, ensuring compliance with regulations and providing guidance to employees on their rights and responsibilities.

Job Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required.
- Experience: 6 years of experience in Human Resources.
- Skills:
- Proficient in HR laws, regulations, and best practices.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in Google Suite software.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Strong decision making skills and sound judgment.
- Proficient in managing FMLA and other regulated leave of absence policies
- Certification such as SHRM-CP or PHR is preferred.
- Experience with HRIS systems and payroll processing preferred.
Salary : $82,500 - $95,000
