Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough assessments of patients with wounds, including taking vital signs and performing necessary diagnostic tests.
- Develop and implement individualized wound care plans based on patient needs and clinical guidelines.
- Perform advanced procedures such as spinal taps, IV insertions, and catheterizations as required.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and ensure optimal outcomes.
- Educate patients and their families about wound care management, prevention strategies, and self-care techniques.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation of all patient interactions and treatments provided.
- Stay current with advancements in wound care practices and participate in ongoing professional development.
Experience
- A valid Nurse Practitioner license with experience in internal medicine or urgent care settings is preferred.
- Proficiency in performing vital signs assessments, wound evaluations, and basic life support techniques.
- Previous experience in home care or medical office environments is advantageous.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Ability to lift patients safely and assist with mobility as needed during assessments or treatments.
