SARAH Tuxis is seeking Direct Support Professionals to provide assistance to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in residential and day program settings. As a DSP you play a critical role in the day-to-day operations that allow the individual's in our care to thrive and cultivate new experiences.
The Agency has multiple locations/group homes seeking staff throughout the Branford, Guilford, Madison, Clinton, Westbrook, and Old Saybrook areas. 1st, 2nd, 3rd shift and per diem shifts available. Paid transferrable training and skill building.
Receive $100.00 bonus per certification if you have proof of: CPR/First Aid Certificate, DDS Medication Administration Certification, and PMT (Physical & Psychological Management Training).
Direct care work experience preferred, but not required.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Current driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and be on your feet for the majority of your shift.
- Previous experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities, family members, or medical professionals is preferred, but not required.
Duties:
- Assist individuals in a physical, mental health setting as directed by the supervisor.
- Document daily activities, services provided, and any other information relevant to the individual or team member.
- Report any changes in the individual's condition or behavior to the supervisor.
- Maintain a safe and healthy environment in accordance with all state and federal regulations.
- Maintain confidentiality of client's personal information.
- Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor.
- Complete all required paperwork and documentation as assigned.
