DANCE – THE NEXT GENERATION - PROGRAM CO-ORDINATOR
Dance – The Next Generation (DNG) is The Sarasota Ballet’s flagship community engagement program. For eligible students, it provides a tuition-free dance education to under-served youth in Sarasota and Manatee Counties.
The DNG Program Co-Ordinator is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about dance education and would like to develop the program into the future.
Main Job Responsibilities
In collaboration with Education Director and Community Engagement Director
- Manage all aspects of DNG Program, develop goals and measures of success
- Co-ordinate and assist in the delivery of curriculum for DNG programs including new initiatives e.g. Bridge Program, Primary Moves and Boys Athletic Development.
- Teach dance classes in DNG both on and off-site based on dance knowledge and experience
- Co-ordinate all part-time faculty and van drivers
- Co-ordinate and oversee creation of and maintain DNG schedules
- Generate and distribute communications to both internal and external stakeholders, particularly DNG parents
- Maintain accurate budget information, departmental reports and statistical information related to DNG and off-site programs
- Create and maintain enrichment calendar to align with DNG curriculum
- Oversee student arrival and dismissal
- Maintain attendance and academic records for all students, reporting stats to Program Director
- Assist with creating, gathering, and reporting DNG assessments
- Oversee student attire and supply needs
- Assist in developing and sustaining partnerships with external organizations
- Any other duties as required
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s Degree in Dance and/or Education or experience in a professional dance/arts organization
- At least 2 years experience in arts administration
- 2 or more years dance teaching experience in a variety of dance genres
- Knowledge and/or experience in working with diverse populations
- Strong organizational and time management skills
OTHER INFORMATION
- DNG is an after-school program, therefore you must have a flexible schedule as working hours are during the evenings. Some weekends throughout the school year are required.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and pass a driving record check.
- Must successfully pass a Grade 2 background check.
- Good knowledge of Spanish is a plus
Salary range: $45,000-48,000 per year
