Title: Food Services Assistant
Reports To: Food Service Manager
SUMMARY OF POSITION, FUNCTION, AND DUTIES
Under the Food Services Manager’s direction, the Food Services Assistant is assigned to fulfill the mission of honoring the Lord Jesus Christ which is to equip students with a love for Christ, a passion to learn, the courage to lead, and a commitment to serve. The school administration may assign additional duties or specify other functions needed as may be appropriate for specific faculty posts. The Food Services Assistant is responsible for assisting with lunch preparation/delivery activities of the School while also individually performing certain cleanup duties. A base schedule of 8:00 am to 2:00 pm, Monday through Friday, is assumed, though flexibility in scheduling and workflow are crucial to respond to unforeseen needs that arise. This position will report to the Food Services Manager.
ESSENTIAL JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

- Must be a born-again Christian whose lifestyle and character demonstrate obedience to God and the Bible and express agreement with the school's doctrinal viewpoints, statement of faith, and Christian lifestyle requirements.
- Must be able to serve as a positive Christian role model to others in the school context.
- Must be able to accept and support the school's core beliefs, statement of faith, and doctrine.
- Must have an understanding of and commitment to SCS's educational objectives and philosophy of education.
- Must possess sufficient biblical knowledge that enables the individual to integrate Scripture into subjects taught, sports coached, or other job duties assigned, thus imparting to students a biblical worldview position.
- Must faithfully attend a local church whose fundamental beliefs are in agreement with the statement of faith and doctrine of this school.
- Must affirm that he/she believes that working and ministering in this Christian school would be pleasing to God, would be consistent with his/her purpose in life, and would be good stewardship of his/her time, talent, and professional abilities.
- Must enjoy working with young people and be an enthusiastic follower of Jesus Christ.
PROFESSIONAL
Food Preparation and Service
1. Put out items on the snack tables.
2. Make sure drink cooler is stocked.
3. Fill cooler with salads, sandwiches and other cold items.
4. Make bologna & cheese sandwiches to be ready for students without a lunch.
5. Make yogurt parfaits/veggie cups/fruit cups, etc as needed.
6. Full meal choices arrive in bulk from the catering company. Prepare food to go into the pre-orders boxes and put HS food into the steam table to serve as they arrive for lunch.
7. Deliver lunches to the elementary classrooms as scheduled.
8. Serve the HS students, faculty, and staff meals from the kitchen.
Clean up
1. Take all the items off the snack table and put into plastic lidded container and put on the shelf in the kitchen.
2. Put plastic utensils, salt, pepper, hot sauce, and napkins in plastic lidded bin.
3. Empty or lock the food cooler.
4. Restock the drink cooler.
5. Wash any dishes and utensils.
6. Wipe down microwaves and all counters and tables.
7. Sweep and mop kitchen and foyer area.
8. Lock drink cooler, filing cabinet, kitchen doors, and gym doors leading to foyer.
INDIVIDUAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Organized, methodical follow-through is required for recurring food services tasks. Good communication skills and responsiveness to all stakeholders including fellow employees, students, parents, and vendors. Consistently high standards of food service prep/delivery and cleaning should be evident. Physical Requirements: Working conditions and physical requirements are normal for an office environment; in addition, the physical ability to lift and move items of up to 25 pounds is needed.
