About the Position
In this role, you will...
- Assist customers regarding library services, resources, equipment, technology, and programs for the assigned unit as well as the library system.
- Engage in routine conflict resolution and problem-solving.
- Plan, present, and evaluate library-sponsored programs.
- Promote library resources to community groups through public speaking, programming, and displays.
- Facilitate in the setup of program rooms, materials, and equipment for public, library, and county events
- Provide administrative support to the Library Manager.
- Attend cash management training and participate in all aspects of the library's cash management procedures.
- Represent Sarasota County to library users.
- Keep abreast of developments, new trends, and innovations in libraries and apply said knowledge to improve services.
About the Schedule
- Monday and Wednesday: 10:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.
- Tuesday and Thursday: 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
- Friday - Saturday: 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Work schedules may vary due to split shifts, rotations, on-call, emergencies, etc.
**Employee may be reassigned to fill in at other libraries within Sarasota County.
About You
Minimum Qualifications:
- Valid Florida driver's license by date of hire.
- One year experience in public contact customer service work.
- Proficiency in computer related to public response.
Subject to Passing Substance Screening: This position is subject to passing a pre-employment substance screening. An applicant who fails to pass a required drug screening test shall be disqualified from employment in any class for five (5) years.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Customer service experience working in libraries or similar settings

Starting Pay: $18.18/hr
