Are you an experienced Park and Recreation Supervisor, capable of leading a team and providing exceptional customer service to our residents and guests? The Neighborhood Parks Supervisor oversees and coordinates all maintenance and operations of our neighborhood parks and other park facilities as assigned.If selected, you will collaborate with the rest of the Recreation and Neighborhood Parks division on best practices, renovations and provide reservation and event support to ensure parks and facilities are kept in excellent condition, maintaining structural and aesthetic integrity. - Promote and ensure safe clean parks. Perform quarterly inspection tours of recreation centers and other division sites. Prepare and submit inspection reports in a timely and accurate manner. Works with staff, contractors and Facilities Maintenance at facilities to correct maintenance deficiencies, safety concerts and to maintain compliance with department standards. Conduct follow-up to confirm deficiencies have been corrected or other appropriate action is in process. May be asked to investigate/review and manage specific customer/citizen complaints related to recreation center / park conditions.
- Oversight of projects at the recreation centers. Coordinates maintenance projects with attendants and trades workers within Recreation Division. Works with Facilities Maintenance and Parks Maintenance Staff to ensure facilities are safe and accessible Participate in annual review process in conjunction with direct supervisor evaluating the performance of maintenance related tasks assigned. Participate in interview process for the hiring of maintenance support staff.
- Assist with the delivery of events and programs. Inventories equipment needed to support day of event activities. Coordinate the necessary equipment working in conjunction with event team. Gather, deliver and set up equipment as required. Provide onsite logistical and event support.
About the Schedule
Work Hours:
- Full-Time, 40 hours per week.
- Must be available Sunday - Saturday, 7:30 a.m - 3:30 p.m. and willing to work on weekdays, weekends, holidays, and evenings as needed.
- Work schedules will vary due to split shifts, rotations, on-call, weekend tournaments, emergencies, etc.
About You
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Recreation, Leisure Services, Education, Public Administration, Business Administration, or closely related field.
- Professional experience can substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required college education
- Valid Florida driver's license by date of hire.
Subject to Passing Substance Screening: This position is subject to passing a pre-employment substance screening. An applicant who fails to pass a required drug screening test shall be disqualified from employment for a period of five years.
Physical Demands: Employees in this role must occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 lbs. Employees can use handling devices (dolly, cart, etc.) or work with another team member to lift and/or move excessive poundage of 50-plus pounds.
About Everything Else
Starting Pay Range: $27.49 - $28.50 per hour, based on your experience.
